Homeless Seek Refuge at the Salvation Army During the Winter Season

The chilly season may be one of the most highly anticipatedtimes of the year by those desiring to enjoy a white Christmas, but for people who have lost their homes, winter can be a huge problem.

There are many homeless Oklahomans finding that staying warm and well-feed is a massive dilemma. To assist those whofind themselves in a difficult housing situation this season, The Salvation Army is opening its doors to welcome the homeless 24 hours a day.

The Salvation Army is a nonprofit organization which aims to provide various kinds of support to those who are in need. The organization is hosting various programs that focus on servicessuch as feeding the hungry, providing shelters, spiritual care, disaster responses and centers for senior citizens.

With the cold days upon us, The Salvation Army will be accepting individuals seeking shelter. Currently, there are about 100 people who have found refuge in the Emergency Shelter.Refugees who are staying at the shelter are given a hot cup of coffee, food, and a place to sleep. Cold-weather gear is alsoprovided to those lacking proper winter attire.
